When you sell tickets through TicketsCandy using Square, your sales can appear in Square reports such as Item Sales. Square will usually show the item name passed from TicketsCandy, such as:
- General Admission
- VIP Ticket
- Weekend Pass
- Donation
- T-Shirt
However, in Square’s Category Sales report, these sales may appear under Uncategorized.
This is expected behavior.
Why does Square show TicketsCandy sales as Uncategorized? #
Square categories are designed for items that are created and managed inside the Square Catalog.
TicketsCandy does not create your tickets, passes, products, donations, or other event items inside your Square Catalog. Instead, TicketsCandy sends the item information directly to Square as part of each order.
This allows Square to receive important sales information such as:
- Item name
- Quantity
- Price
- Order total
Because these items are not part of your Square Catalog, they do not have a Square category assigned to them. Square therefore places them under Uncategorized in the Category Sales report.
Can I still see which items were sold? #
Yes. Go to:
Square Dashboard → Reports → Sales → Item Sales
There you can see sales broken down by the item names sent from TicketsCandy.
For example, you may see separate sales totals for:
- General Admission
- Kids Ticket
- VIP Ticket
- Donation
- Merchandise
The Uncategorized label only affects Square’s category-based reporting. It does not mean that Square is missing the individual item information.
Can I assign Square categories to TicketsCandy items? #
Not currently.
For TicketsCandy items to appear under Square categories, each item would first need to be created and maintained as an item in the organizer’s Square Catalog.
TicketsCandy currently keeps these systems separate so your tickets and other event items remain managed from one place: your TicketsCandy event dashboard.
