Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel) allows you to track ticket purchases, optimize ad performance, build custom audiences, and retarget visitors who interact with your event page. By integrating Meta Pixel with TicketsCandy, you can enhance your marketing strategy by ensuring your ads reach the right audience.
How to Enable Facebook Pixel #
Facebook Pixel is available as an app in the App Marketplace. To enable it:
- Go to Add More Tools in the navigation menu of your Event Dashboard.
- Find the Facebook Pixel app in the App Marketplace and enable it.
Once enabled, the Facebook Pixel feature will be added to your dashboard for easy access.
Facebook/Meta Pixel Integration #
Start by setting up a Meta Pixel and installing it on your website.
After setting up your Meta Pixel, you need to retrieve the Pixel ID / Dataset ID to connect it with TicketsCandy.
- In Facebook Business Manager, navigate to Data Sources.
- Select your Pixel / Dataset from the list.
- Your Dataset ID will be displayed on the screen.
- Copy your Pixel ID / Dataset ID.
- Log into your TicketsCandy dashboard.
- Navigate to the Facebook Pixels settings.
- Paste the Pixel ID / Dataset ID into the “Pixel ID” field.
Your Meta Pixel is now linked to TicketsCandy and will begin tracking ticket purchases and visitor interactions.
Enable Conversions API for Improved Tracking #
You can also connect Conversion API that allows us to send events directly from our web server to Facebook, bypassing browser-based tracking methods. This is especially useful for capturing more accurate and comprehensive event data.
To enable Conversions API, you need to generate an Access Token from Facebook Business Manager.
- Log into your Facebook Business Manager account.
- Go to Data Sources.
- Select your Pixel (Dataset).
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Scroll down to the Conversions API section.
- Under “Set Up Direct Integration”, click Generate Access Token.
- Copy the generated Access Token.
- Log into your TicketsCandy dashboard.
- Navigate to the Facebook Pixels settings.
- Paste the Access Token into the “Conversions API Access Token” field.
- Save the settings.
Checkout Event Names For Facebook #
Facebook pixel automatically tracks specific checkout events during a customer’s ticket purchase process. These events provide insight into customer interactions and sales funnel performance.
1. Checkout Stage – Customer #
When a customer initiates the checkout process, the following events are triggered:
- Facebook Event Name: AddToCart
2. Checkout Stage – Details #
During this step, customers select their booking dates, answer custom questions, and can add additional products to their order. Depending on the event settings, this stage may or may not appear. If it does appear, these are the triggered events:
- Facebook Event Name: InitiateCheckout
3. Checkout Stage – Billing #
As the customer proceeds to enter their billing information, the subsequent events get triggered:
- Facebook Event Name: AddPaymentInfo
4. Checkout Stage – Order Receipt (completed order) #
Once the order is finalized and the customer receives their receipt, the following events get triggered:
- Facebook Event Name: Purchase
