Smart Rules, also known as Conditional Logic, provide event organizers with the ability to create dynamic pricing conditions for tickets. These rules allow you to automate pricing adjustments based on different conditions.
How to Enable Smart Rules #
Smart Rules are available as an app in the App Marketplace. To enable it:
- Go to Add More Tools in the navigation menu of your Event Dashboard.
- Find the Smart Rules app in the App Marketplace and enable it.
Once enabled, the Smart Rules feature will be added to your dashboard for easy access.
Creating a Smart Rule #
To create a new Smart Rule:
- Navigate to the Smart Rules page in your TicketsCandy admin dashboard.
- Click the “Add Smart Rule” button.
- The rule setup page will open, allowing you to configure your custom logic.
Each Smart Rule follows a structured format using step-by-step conditions to ensure ease of use.
1. Rule Name #
- Enter a unique name to help you identify the rule’s purpose.
- Example: “Weekend Price Increase” or “Bulk Discount for Groups.”
2. Apply To (Ticket Selection) #
- Choose which ticket(s) the rule should apply to.
- This ensures that pricing adjustments affect only the specified tickets.
3. IF Condition (Trigger Rule) #
- Define the condition that will activate the rule.
- Select from available conditions such as:
- Booking Day of the Week – Adjusts prices based on the day of purchase.
- Ticket Quantity – Modifies pricing based on the number of tickets in the cart.
4. IS Condition (Specify Value) #
- After selecting a rule condition, specify the value required for activation.
- Example: If using “Booking Day of the Week,” select the days the rule applies to (e.g., Monday).
- Example: If using “Ticket Quantity,” enter the minimum number of tickets needed to trigger the rule.
5. THEN Condition (Price Adjustment Result) #
- Define the action that will occur once the rule is triggered.
- Options include:
- Increase ticket price by: Enter an amount and select either a fixed currency increase or a percentage.
- Decrease ticket price by: Enter an amount and choose either a fixed currency discount or a percentage off.
Disable Rule (Optional) #
- If you want to temporarily deactivate a rule without deleting it, toggle the Disable Rule option.
Once all conditions are set, click “Create Rule” to save and apply the Smart Rule to your event.
Available Rule Conditions #
Booking Day of the Week #
- Adjust ticket prices based on the day of the week the customer is purchasing for.
- Choose one or multiple days from a list.
- Example: Increase ticket prices on weekends or offer discounts on weekdays.
Ticket Quantity #
- Adjust ticket prices based on the number of tickets in a customer’s cart.
- When selected, a field appears where you enter a minimum ticket quantity for the rule to apply.
- Example: If set to 5 and configured for a 10% discount, the ticket price will automatically decrease by 10% when a customer adds 5 or more tickets to their cart.
