If Pass Fees On or Custom Fees is selected in your TicketsCandy POS settings, the fees you choose to charge customers apply to all POS orders, including cash payments on Square Stand and Square Terminal.
- Pass Fees On: The automatically calculated fee remains included in the order, regardless of how the customer pays.
- Custom Fees: The custom fee you configured remains included in the order, regardless of how the customer pays.
These fees are already included in the displayed price. Selecting cash does not remove them.
Why do fees apply to cash payments? #
To support compliance with pricing and payment-surcharge regulations across different countries, TicketsCandy requires passed-on and custom fees to apply consistently across payment methods.
This keeps the fee part of the purchase price rather than an extra charge triggered by paying with a card. The same policy applies to both Square Stand and Square Terminal.
Who keeps the fee collected on a cash order? #
You do. TicketsCandy does not charge transaction fees on cash POS payments, and Square does not charge processing fees because it does not process the cash.
Any passed-on or custom fee collected from the customer stays with you as additional revenue. Applicable taxes still follow your tax settings.
How can I stop adding fees to customer orders? #
Go to Sell In-Person > POS Settings and select Absorb Fees.
This removes passed-on or custom fees from all POS customer orders, including card and cash payments. You still cover any applicable TicketsCandy or Square costs on electronic payments, while cash payments remain free of those transaction fees.
