Google Adwords

3 min read

Google Ads App

Google Ads allows you to track ticket purchases made through your TicketsCandy event page and ticketing widget. By integrating Google Ads with your TicketsCandy account, you can measure the performance of your paid search and display campaigns, ensuring you get the best return on investment (ROI) from your marketing efforts.

How to Enable Google Adwords #

Google Adwords is available as an app in the App Marketplace. To enable it:

  • Go to Add More Tools in the navigation menu of your Event Dashboard.
  • Find the Google Adwords app in the App Marketplace and enable it.

Once enabled, the Google Adwords feature will be added to your dashboard for easy access.

Setting Up Google Ads Conversion Tracking #

Setup the Google Tag #

Before setting up conversion tracking, ensure that the Google Tag is installed on your website. This tag allows Google Ads to monitor visitor activity, track conversions, and optimize ad performance.

Follow Google’s official instructions to install the Google Tag.

Setting Up Conversions in Google Ads #

Once your Google Tag is installed, you need to create a conversion action in Google Ads. This ensures that every time a ticket is purchased on your TicketsCandy event page, the data is sent back to your Google Ads account.

Choosing the Right Method:

Google is in the process of rolling out a new, simplified conversion tracking system. Below, we provide instructions for both the old and new methods. Choose the appropriate method based on what you see in your Google Ads account.

Method 1: Setting Up Conversions (Old Version – Phasing Out) #

  • Log into your Google Ads account.
  • Click Goals in the left-hand menu.
  • Click the + New Conversion Action button.

You will see four horizontally arranged tiles asking you to select the type of conversion.

    • Conversion Name: Purchase (or any other preferred name)
    • Value: Use different values for each conversion
    • Count: Every
    • Other settings: Leave as default
