# Create An Event

The “**My Events**” tab in the Organizer Panel is where you can create and manage your events.

## Create an Event

On the left-hand side of your panel, there is a menu. Under “**Organizer**,” select “**My Events**.”

If you have not created any events yet, you will be presented with a page that says “No Events Yet” with a button in the middle that says “**Create Event**.”

Click “**Create Event**” in the middle of the page if this is your first event. If it is not your first time, you can always find the “**Create Event**” button in the top right-hand corner.

The button will take you to a new page in the Organizer Panel where you will be prompted to enter the event details.

## Event Name

The Event Name is a critical field that represents the title of your event. This name will be prominently displayed to your customers on your event page, tickets, email confirmations, and all other correspondence.

## Enable/Disable Booking Calendar

When creating an event, you can choose whether your event should use a booking calendar.

By default, the booking calendar is disabled. When the booking calendar is disabled, your event works as a standard one-time event with one start date and time, and one end date and time.

- Select **Disable Booking Calendar** if your event happens on one specific date and time, and customers do not need to choose from multiple dates or time slots.
- Select **Enable Booking Calendar** if customers need to choose a specific booking date or time slot during checkout. This is useful for recurring events, timed-entry events, daily admissions, tours, classes, attractions, workshops, or any event where customers need to choose when they want to attend.

### Booking Flow

When the booking calendar is enabled, you will also need to choose a **Booking Flow**.

The booking flow controls the order in which customers select their date, time, and tickets during checkout.

You can choose from two options:

#### Date & Time First

Customers select a date and time first, then choose tickets available for that booking. This option is best for simple events that use one booking calendar and have the same ticket options available across all dates and times.

#### Tickets First, Date & Time After (Multiple Calendars)

Customers select tickets first, then choose the booking date and time for each ticket. This option is best when different tickets need different schedules, dates, or time slots. For example, you can use this flow if weekday tickets, weekend tickets, VIP tickets, tours, or special access tickets each need their own calendar.

> For a more detailed explanation of booking flows, custom calendars, and how to use different schedules for different tickets, please see our [**Booking Calendar and Booking Flow Explained**](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/booking-calendar-and-booking-flow-explained/) article.

If you need a simple setup with one schedule for all tickets, use **Date & Time First**.

If you need different schedules for different tickets, use **Tickets First, Date & Time After (Multiple Calendars)**.

## Event Start Date & Event End Date

Next, you will need to select the **Event Start Date** and **Event End Date**.

### For Timed-Entry events (enabled Booking Calendar)

**“Event Start****Date”** - is the day that the appointment calendar will be available from. All dates before the “**Event Start Date**” will be hidden.

**“Event End Date”** - is the last available day in the appointment calendar. All dates after the “**Event End Date**” will be hidden. If you do not select an end date, the calendar will continuously repeat the daily time slots without an end.

### For Open-Entry events (disabled Booking Calendar)

“**Event Start Date**” - this is the official start day of your event. It will appear in the event details and on tickets as the event’s starting point. Keep in mind that ticket sales begin as soon as the event is published, regardless of the Event Start Date.

“**Event End Date**” - this represents the event's closing date. It is displayed on the event details and tickets and serves as the cutoff for ticket sales. If no Event End Date is set, the event details will show only the Event Start Date with no defined end.

## Timezone

Be sure to select the appropriate **Time Zone**. The Time Zone **plays an important role** in ensuring your timeslots begin and end at the correct times as well as that your sales start and end at the correct times.

## Enable Seating Charts for an Event

Enabling seating charts is the second step in setting up reserved seating for an event.

> The complete setup includes:
>
>
>
> 1. [Create and Manage Seating Charts](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/seating-charts-create-manage/)
> 2. **Enable Seating Charts for an Event**
> 3. [Create a Seated Ticket](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/seated-tickets/)
> 4. [Manage Seats and View Purchased Seats](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/seating-charts/)

The **Enable Seating Charts** setting is available when you create a new event or edit an existing event under **Event Settings**.

Turn on **Enable Seating Charts** to use reserved seating for the event. Once enabled, the **Seating Chart** section will appear.

### Select a Seating Chart

Use the **Seating Chart** dropdown to select the chart you want to connect to this event.

Seating charts are created separately at the account level, so you must first [create a seating chart](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/seating-charts-create-manage/) before you can select it here.

The selected chart becomes the seating layout for this event. In the next step, you will create **Seated Tickets** and connect them to categories within this chart. For example, you might create separate tickets for the left, center, and right sections and connect each ticket to its matching seating chart category.

### Seating Charts for Multiple Dates and Time Slots

The same seating chart layout can be used with different event schedules, including:

- A one-time event
- A multi-day event
- An event with multiple dates and time slots

Seats are reserved separately for each bookable event date or time.

For example, if your event takes place on two different dates, customers can select seats for the first date without affecting the availability of those same seats on the second date. The seating layout remains the same, but seat reservations are tracked separately for each booking date or time slot.

This allows the same venue layout to be reused throughout your event schedule.

### Do Not Allow Single Empty Seats

Enable **Do Not Allow Single Empty Seats** if you want to prevent customers from making a seat selection that leaves a single unoccupied seat between already reserved or selected seats.

This can help you use your available seating more efficiently and reduce isolated empty seats within rows.

### Changing the Seating Chart

Once you create a **Seated Ticket** for the event, you cannot change the seating chart connected to that event.

Seated tickets are connected to categories within a specific seating chart. Changing the chart would break those connections.

If you need to use a different seating chart:

1. Delete all Seated Tickets from the event.
2. Return to **Event Settings**.
3. Select a different seating chart.

After the new chart is selected, you can create new Seated Tickets and connect them to its categories.

### Disabling Seating Charts

You also cannot turn off **Enable Seating Charts** while the event has any Seated Tickets.

Each Seated Ticket depends on the seating chart and its categories. To disable seating charts for the event, first delete all Seated Tickets. Once no Seated Tickets remain, you can return to **Event Settings** and turn off the **Seating Charts**.

Once you have selected and saved your seating chart, continue to the next step: [Create a Seated Ticket](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/seated-tickets/).

## Event Venue

The **Event Venue** section allows you to enter or update the location where your event takes place. This information is displayed on your public event page and included in the ticket confirmation emails sent to customers, helping attendees find your event location.

You can enter your venue address automatically using Google Maps or manually by filling out individual address fields.

### Venue Name

Enter the name of the location where your event takes place.

This can be the name of a building, theater, park, stadium, business, or any other venue hosting your event.

The **Venue Name** field is required.

### Address Details (Google Maps)

By default, the **Address Details** section displays a single address field that uses Google Maps to find your event location.

To enter your address:

1. Click the **Address Details** field.
2. Start typing the venue's street address or location.
3. Google Maps will automatically suggest matching addresses as you type.
4. Select the correct address from the suggestions to fill in your venue location.

**When you select an address using Google Maps, your public event page will display both the venue address and a map showing its location.** This makes it easier for attendees to find your venue and get directions.

We recommend using this option whenever possible, especially for venues with a recognized address on Google Maps.

### Enter Address Manually

If your venue's address is not available through Google Maps, or you prefer to enter the address yourself, click the **Enter Address Manually** button below the address field.

This will replace the automatic address field with separate fields where you can enter your venue's address details.

The following fields are available:

- **Country** - Automatically filled based on the country selected when your TicketsCandy account was registered. This field cannot be changed because the event's country must match your account's registered country.
- **Address Line 1** - Enter the venue's primary street address, including the street number and street name.
- **Address Line 2** - Add any additional address details, such as a suite number, apartment number, unit, floor, or building name.
- **City** - Enter the city where your venue is located.
- **State/Province** - Select the state or province where the venue is located.
- **Post Code** - Enter the ZIP code or postal code for the venue.

**Important:** When you enter an address manually, the venue address will still be displayed on your public event page and included in customer ticket confirmation emails. However, **the location map will not appear on the event page**. Only the address information will be displayed as text.

### Important Note About Fee Settings

Your event's location may affect which fee options are available due to different pricing transparency laws in certain states or regions.

After entering or updating your event's address, we recommend reviewing your [Event Settings > Payments](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/event-settings-payments/) page to make sure your fee settings are configured correctly.

## Event Organizer

Please enter the name of your organization. By default, it will be the primary name on your account. If you would like to add a new organizer, select “**Add New Organizer.**”

The section will update to allow you to enter the new Organization Name, Organization Email, and Organization Phone number.

If you clicked this button by mistake, you can go back to the default organization by clicking “Choose From Existing Organizer.”

Organizer details are required and will be displayed on your event. The email address will be hidden. However, visitors will be able to communicate via a contact form on the event page that will send messages to the specified email.

## Taxes

If you need to charge taxes for your event, select the check box next to “**Do you want to charge taxes?**” Then enter the tax rate you would like to charge your customers in the “**Tax Rate**” box that appears.

## Create The Event

Once you have filled out all the fields, select “**Create Event**” in the bottom right-hand corner of the page.

## Delete Event

To delete an event, go to the “**My events”** page and click on the trash can symbol button on the upper right corner of the event tile.
