# Calendars

With TicketsCandy, you can efficiently manage the dates and time slots for your events by using calendars. Each set of time slots is attached to a specific calendar, allowing you to customize schedules for different ticket types. You can create as many calendars as necessary to meet your event’s unique scheduling needs.

## Accessing Time Slots and Calendars

To manage time slots and calendars:

1. Navigate to your **Event Dashboard**.
2. Click on **Time Slots** in the navigation menu.

## What Are Calendars?

Calendars serve as containers for your event's time slots. They enable you to create and organize schedules tailored to different tickets.

**Example Use Case**:

- A museum can use a **General Admission** calendar for weekly recurring time slots linked to general admission tickets.
- For a one-day special event, the museum can create a **Special Event** calendar with custom time slots specific to that day.

## Default Calendar

When booking calendars are enabled for an event, a **Default Calendar** is automatically created. You can start adding time slots to this calendar right away, and all tickets will initially be linked to it unless assigned to a different calendar.

## Calendar Global Settings

Global settings apply to all calendars you create and can be accessed by clicking the **Global Settings** button at the top of the Time Slots page.

### Time Slot Intervals

Configure time slot start and end time intervals, such as 1-hour or 30-minute intervals.

For example, with 1-hour intervals, you will have the following times available for selection: 8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM, etc. With 30-minute intervals, the available times will change to 8 AM, 8:30 AM, 9 AM, 9:30 AM, 10 AM, and so on.

### Appointment Buffer

Set a buffer to prevent bookings too close to the time slot start time. For example, a 1-hour buffer prevents bookings for a 2 PM time slot after 1 PM.

### Week Starts On

Choose which day of the week should appear as the first day of the calendar.

### Hide Time Slot End Times

Choose to hide the end times of time slots from customers during checkout.

### Hide the Number of Available Time Slots

Prevent customers from seeing how many spots are available for each time slot.

If your event uses the [**Date & Time First** booking flow](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/booking-calendar-and-booking-flow-explained/), this setting is automatically enabled and cannot be turned off. Customers will not see the number of available spots for each time slot in this flow.

## Create a New Calendar

To create another calendar, click **Add Calendar** in the top-right corner of the **Time Slots** page.

Custom calendars are available only when your event uses the [**Tickets First, Date & Time After (Multiple Calendars)** booking flow](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/booking-calendar-and-booking-flow-explained/).

If your event uses the [**Date & Time First** flow](https://help.ticketscandy.com/kb/booking-calendar-and-booking-flow-explained/), all tickets use the same Default Calendar, and the option to create additional custom calendars is not available.

If you need different tickets to use different schedules, switch the event to **Tickets First, Date & Time After (Multiple Calendars)** in your Event Settings.

When custom calendars are available, clicking **Add Calendar** opens a pop-up window where you can configure the following settings.

### Calendar Name

- Helps you easily identify the calendar in your dashboard.
- The calendar name will also appear to customers when they select a booking date during checkout.

### Date/Time Format

Choose how the event date and time will be displayed on tickets and order details:

- “**Date, Start Time, End Time**”: Displays the full details, including booking date, start time, and end time (e.g., March 5, 2024, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
- “**Date, Start Time**”: Shows the booking date and start time only (e.g., March 5, 2024, 10:00 AM).
- “**Date**”: Displays only the booking date (e.g., March 5, 2024).

### Time Slot Expiration

This setting determines when a time slot becomes unavailable for booking:

- “**At Start**”: The time slot is blocked as soon as it starts. (Example: For a 2 PM time slot, customers cannot book tickets once the clock hits 2 PM.)
- “**At End**”: The time slot remains available until it ends. (Example: For a 2 PM – 3 PM time slot, customers can still book tickets at 2:30 PM for that same slot.)

## Switch Between Calendars

- Click on the calendar name to switch views.
- The selected calendar will have a blue border and a checked radio button next to its name.

## Individual Calendar Settings

Each calendar has local settings that apply only to that calendar.

- To edit these, click the **burger icon** (three dots) next to the calendar name and select **Settings**.
- Adjust options such as calendar name, date/time format, or time slot expiration.

## Delete Calendar

- Click the **burger icon** next to the calendar name.
- Select **Delete** to remove the calendar.

## Assign Calendars to Tickets

1. Go to **Tickets** in your Event Dashboard.
2. Click **Edit** on the ticket you want to link to a calendar.
3. Under the **Calendar** section, select the desired calendar and save the ticket.

This feature allows you to assign unique schedules to specific ticket types, ensuring maximum flexibility and control over your event’s time slots.
